Join us for the launch of our new publication: Are You Comfortable Yet?
The publication translates three performance works by Anahita Harding, so that readers can re-visit and re-imagine them through the bookform. Harding’s performances themselves delve into themes of perception and the body, often addressing bodily differences and inviting audiences to reconsider their own views in regards to disability.
The three performances featured include:
Are You Comfortable Yet? is the first edition of our imprint Practice Meets Paper: a growing series of publications that spotlight an artist's work and translates it into print. The questions we pose with Anahita Harding's work here are: How can performance within landmark buildings be experienced through a publication? Can the scale of these monuments be felt? Can their lack of access be felt even more?

There will be hot tea and snacks available all day! The publications will be on sale for a discounted price of £20 all day too :-)

The tickets are Pay-What-You-Can, starting at £5.
There’s also an option to buy the book beforehand for £20, which includes your launch ticket for free! We’ll have your copy reserved to collect for when you arrive.
If cost is a barrier for you, send us an email (at hi.emdash@gmail.com) with your name and we will add you to the guestlist, no questions asked.
There will also be tickets at the door all day :-)
Access info
There is step-free access into the venue and accessible parking. There are accessible, gender neutral toilets, baby changing facilities, and assistance dogs are welcome.

Anahita Harding’s preferred mediums include performance art, collage, and drawing. She draws inspiration from her own life and the experiences of other disabled individuals, often motivated by a sense of injustice and a desire to create awareness and change. Her performances often provoke varied reactions from audiences, ranging from confusion to curiosity and empathy, highlighting societal perceptions of disability.
