About bones
bones tan jones is an artist, composer and vocalist, and has been facilitating accessible and radical martial arts community spaces since 2016. They also run Orakle Apothecary, a space to explore the wisdom of herbs and earth based crafts. bones has been facilitating and teaching radical martial arts and herbal spaces for QTIBIPOC communities since 2016, as Shadows Fight Club. Inspired by ancient myths and poetry, their art, music and energy movement practices have converged, allowing them the craft of cultivating a space of creative expansive movement, deep learning, and joyful experimentation throughout their classes.
bones trained with and mentors on Jean Hall & James Rafael's 240hrYT Daoist Flow Yoga teacher training and Mimi Kuo-Deemer's 40hr 5 Element Qi Gong Teacher CPU as well as undertaking Mimi's year long teacher mentorship in 2021. bones has been training with Shifu Yanzi in Shaolin Gong Fu and Shifu Long in Wu Style Taiji and weaponry since 2018. bones is also currently under tutelage and training with the Anglesey Druid Order.
About Ajahn
Ajahn Santamano is a Theravada Buddhist monk, a Bhikkhu, until 2023 living in Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in the UK. He became Anagarika in 2008 and had his Bhikkhu ordination in 2011. He has also spent periods of time at other monasteries in New Zealand, Portugal, and Thailand. He is now an independent, wandering monastic wishing to speak more openly in support of Bhikkhuni Ordination, gender equality in Buddhism, and wishing to highlight various prejudices that occur in various societies based on class, caste, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and more.
Since the genocide in Palestine started, he has been active in opposing it and has spent time in Palestine helping with protective presence.
What to Bring
- Something to sit on (mat, blanket, or cushion)
- A towel or blanket to place on your meditation block (blocks will be provided, but are hard—please bring something soft to cover them)
- Water to stay hydrated
- You are welcome to bring your own meditation block or cushion if you prefer
- A tea cup. We will share a warm tea from fresh herbs from the medicine garden

- Ground surface is loose with small wooden pieces—may be uneven or soft in places
- Please bring a mat, blanket, or towel for comfort on hard blocks
- No added scents or incense
- Accessible toilets: Gender Neutral Toilet can be accessed via a ramp. Baby changing facilities.
- Accessible parking and drop-off: On street council parking, pay via app.
- The event is outdoors under the cover —please dress for the weather
