This is an event in a gallery during the exhibition, Disco at the End of the Universe.
Join us for a Silent Disco inspired by legendary Tea Dances at the Limelight Club on Shaftesbury Avenue through the 90s and beyond. Although the Limelight was sold in 2013, we may still enjoy music and dancing on a Sunday afternoon in the company of friends.
There will be three different soundtracks in different rooms reflecting on the themes of the exhibition. Theses are: songs responding to the artworks, classic disco tracks, and 3am music.
Come along and bring your friends to the Silent Disco at the End of the Universe.
About the exhibition:
Amid climate collapse, rising authoritarianism and the slow crumble of liberal certainties DISCO AT THE END OF THE UNIVERSE dares to offer art as passion, celebration and rebellion in response to a world that feels out of control. A thought provoking and spirited exhibition in which artists use traditional skills and new technologies to resist: asserting presence over panic and imagination over apathy. Part love letter, part battle cry, part mirrorball.
This show is your invitation to resist with us, find your own battle cry and see a little bit of yourself in the mirrorball.
An exhibition by The AndroTechne Collective, including: Jonathan Armour, Brian Dennis, Richard Dickson, Mark Ho, Mathias Vef, Graeme Messer, Georg Meyer Wiel, Sakib Khan, Susie Breen.
