Fungi Walk with Environemntal Educator Abi Young
We'll explore the Greenwich Peninsula, looking closely at the fungi and lichen that thrive in this urban landscape. We'll learn basic identification skills and discover why these organisms matter in the face of climate change. These organisms teach us about transformation, symbiosis, and making space for themselves—much like the queer and trans experience of navigating the city. We'll move slowly, paying attention to what grows in cracks, on walls, and in overlooked corners. Along the walk, we will map where we find lichens and what we can learn from them.
