Join three Elspeth Wilson, Jo Morey and Charlotte Paradise for a conversation about their debut novels, their writing lives and accessibility within the publishing industry. As part of Disability History Month, this conversation will centre new and exciting disabled voices at a time when they are still too often overlooked in literature.

Elspeth
Elspeth Wilson is a writer interested in exploring the limitations and possibilities of the body. Her poetry pamphlet, Too Hot to Sleep, is published by Written Off Publishing and was shortlisted for the Saltire Society’s 2023 Poetry Book of the Year Award. Her debut novel, These Mortal Bodies, is published with Simon and Schuster and was described by The Bookseller as "an absorbing, clever and twisty debut". She runs the Neurodivergent Notes on Writing Subtack and can usually be found in or near the sea.
Jo Morey
JO MOREY is a graduate of the Faber Academy and Curtis Brown Mentoring Scheme. She has a BA in English Literature and French from the University of Leeds. The manuscript for The Night Lagoon was awarded the 2023 Claire Mannion Literary Endeavour Prize, came runner-up in the Cheshire Novel Prize, and was shortlisted for the Primadonna Prize, the Plaza First Pages Award and Killer Nashville's Claymore Award in the literary category. Jo has written for The Sunday Times Style and Prima. The Night Lagoon was a Sunday Times 'Pick of the Month' and one of Good Housekeeping's '20 Hottest Books of Summer'. Jo lives in West Sussex with her husband, two boys, and two Portuguese Water Dogs. The Night Lagoon is her first novel.
Charlotte Paradise
Charlotte Paradise is a Disabled author and award-winning screenwriter. Her short films have won awards at UK and international film festivals. Overspill is her first novel.
