Join us for a cozy gathering of aces and aros at a small independent pub.
We know Christmas and the winter season can feel isolating, we all see adverts that this is now the ‘perfect time’ to be with family and / or a romantic partner and for some of us, this is not a reflection on our own experiences.
Many ace and aro people may feel disconnected from family because of the pressure to follow the relationship escalator, not want or struggle to find a romantic partner/s who understands their identity.
So this year, our end of year social is about sharing joy and making friends during this Christmas period. We will be writing Christmas cards and giving them out to make connections.
🎄 How it works
- Write a message, add your name and contact info. This means someone will be able to contact you.
- Hand your card directly to someone you’d like to get to know, or give it to one of the “winter spirits” (the organisers: Lucien, Gaby, Rhys) to pass along.
- If you receive a card, it’s totally up to you whether to send a message out! When messaging, please start by sending a photo of the card so the recipient knows who you are.
- Remember: giving a card is an invitation, not an obligation. Respectful exchange is key.
- If you just want to write positive messages to attendees and leave no contact info that is also welcome!
✨ Extra details
- You’re welcome to bring your own cards! Ours will be sourced from local charity shops and previous arts and crafts materials we have used.
- This is NOT a private event, but we’ll have a section reserved. Arrive early if you’d like a seat. If you need one reserved for accessibility reasons, please contact us on via IG or email.
- To support the pub (and help us secure future bookings), we kindly ask everyone to buy at least one drink!
