Join Andro & Eve and drag kings Loose Willis, Harddeep Singh and Mark Anthony for a weekend of drag king workshops, helping you bring out your inner king!
These workshops will guide you through the art of mansformation, supporting you to find your voice and aesthetic, and exploring movement, comedy and performance skills.
This weekend is aimed at those completely new to drag, or those with limited drag performance experience, although you may have other performance experience. We encourage you to attend the whole weekend to get a well rounded introduction to the art of drag kings, so that you can come away feeling more confident to create your own drag acts.
Although the workshops are focused on developing drag king persona’s, techniques explored could be applied to drag things and queens too. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing and on Day 2, perhaps bringing one or two items of clothing you might like to wear as your drag character.
These workshops are for 18+ only
Access: This event is held in a city centre venue with step free access. Gender neutral toilets are provided and an accessible toilet. Breaks will be built into the day and snacks provided. Masking is welcome, and we clean the air using a HEPA filter. Specific COVID guidance is below.

Workshop 2: Find the Voice of Your Inner King with Harddeep Singh
Tap into your inner voice and explore your Drag persona. Do they want to be seen, heard, adored, deplored, worshipped? Are they a lover, a fighter or a romantic? Using exercises to help bring to light what you want to express, heal or share on stage.
Workshop 3: Finding your Drag Aesthetic with Loose Willis
Using activities to explore your drag character’s personal style - helping you to refine the image you present on stage, based on character development. With an introduction to creating costumes and props using inexpensive items and a makeup tutorial, where you’ll be encouraged to 'paint-along'.
Workshop 4: Comedy and Improv Skills with Loose Willis
Through shorter and longer form improvisation games and activities you’ll gain confidence with creating humour and spontaneity. There’ll also be an introduction to clowning: how to exaggerate stage performance to connect with an audience, and tips and techniques on comedy writing and hosting.
