What does “ageing well” mean to you?
You’re invited to a discussion group about ageing well, health and wellbeing in later life.
We’ll explore what supports LGBTQ+ people to maintain good health and wellbeing as we age.
This event is open to anyone aged 18+.
Refreshments and a light lunch are included.
We can support you with travel costs on request.
If you have any questions, please contact Maria Hughes: 0121 643 0821 or MariaHughes@blgbt.org.
Birmingham LGBT is working with Birmingham Public Health to find out more about the things which affect the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people and what can be done to make improvements.
We work on the principle that people know what they need and what does and doesn't work for them. We want to hear about both good and bad experiences, and work with people to develop solutions to help improve their lives. These could be anything from raising awareness and how people can help themselves, to developing new services or improving existing ones.
The discussion will be led by Maria Hughes and based around discussion questions which are already set, but these are just a guide. We can talk about whatever the group thinks is interesting and important. Participants are free to tell the group about examples from your own lives, but don't have to - we share whatever we feel comfortable with.
Participants will be sent the questions in advance, to help you prepare for the experience, but you don't have to have answers ready.
