Haiku Evening + Workshop
On Friday 27th March at 7:30pm - Haiku writer and enthusiast Mike Lewington, joins us for a second time, with an evening of haiku readings from his newly updated collection: 50 Haiku – Traditional Themes, Modern Life, Family Matters, Bad Actors & Erotica. Mike will also be providing us with a special workshop, giving you the opportunity to come up with some too!
Tickets are £5 (+ a small booking fee)
Mike Lewington has lived in Sydenham for 40 years. He read English and Education at York University. His book Images of Alcholism was published by the BFI.
Although always interested in poetry, especially WB Yeats, over the last couple of years, he has extensively read classical Chinese poetry in translation. His interest in haiku stemmed from being asked to write on on an online forum, which then precipitated a creative efflorescence which he still finds difficult to explain.
