Our next hike is a linear moorland trek from Steeton to Ilkley!
Think big skies, dramatic landscapes, and us lot serving outdoor-dyke energy.
It’s 7.25 miles (11.7 km) with around 340 metres of ascent, taking roughly 4 hours.
There’ll be some steep uphill sections and uneven terrain - so yes, we’ll be elevating in every sense. A decent level of fitness is needed, but we’re pacing, not racing.
Please meet at:
- Leeds Train Station in time to catch the 9:56am train to Steeton & Silsden.
- Or at Steeton & Silsden Station when we arrive at 10:27am.
We’ll be starting the hike promptly at 10:45am.
We need you to commit to the bit: footwear is serious business and proper hiking boots are essential. The moors may be muddy and waterlogged so please wear suitable clothing and bring plenty of layers - the weather loves a plot twist up there.
Because it’s a linear walk, we’ll finish in Ilkley and catch the train back to Leeds. Bring enough food and drink for the day, and we’ll aim to stop somewhere scenic for lunch.
Don’t worry if it’s your first hike with us, or you’re coming alone, these hikes are the perfect chance to meet new people!
Boots on. Layers packed. See you on the moors. 👋
