Details

Join artists Jacob V. Joyce to explore our experiences of cruising, especially those of women, trans and disabled folk (not only cis gendered able bodied men). This informal sharing space will offer everyone a chance to listen and tell their own stories, with readings of work by the author, Patrick Califia, amongst others.

Joy’s work ranges from afro-futurist world-building workshops to mural painting, comic books and performance art. They are currently a doctoral candidate researching the history of Anti-Colonial Arts Education at Westminster University. Joyce has self-published several zines and illustrated international human rights campaigns for Out Proud African LGBTI, Amnesty International, Global Justice Now and had their comics in national newspapers. TFL Arts Grant awardee and former artist in residence at Gasworks, Serpentine, The Museum of Homelessness, Nottingham Contemporary and Tate Galleries Education department, Joyce is a non-binary artist amplifying historical and nourishing new queer and decolonial narratives. We strive to provide a physical environment that is accessible to all visitors. This includes:

Offering ground-level, step-free access to our spaces.
Offering elevator access to our project space located on the first floor.
Providing accessible restrooms for all genders on every floor of our venues.
Providing folding chairs or other forms of seating at every venue.
Welcoming assistive animal at our spaces and events.
Designating drop-off zones and parking spots within the Design District for visitors with disabilities on Phoenix Avenue which is 160 meters away.
