Queer Archi* Social is a meetup for Queer and Trans people working and studying in architecture, landscape, horticulture, and built environment. If you work with the built enviroment in any capacity - this is for you! It’s about carving out space in an industry that can feel isolating, bringing people together to connect, share experiences, and see that we are not alone.
WHEN: 2nd April, 6:30 - 9pm
WHERE: Spacehub, 148-150 Curtain Rd, London EC2A 3AT
Our host for this months Social is Spacehub.
Spacehub is a young, innovative practice specialising in landscape architecture, urban design and ecology. As an Employee Owned Trust, we are a close-knit team that values collaboration and fresh ideas from everyone in the studio. Since 2010 they have built a reputation for high-quality design across a wide range of scales, from bespoke furniture to major developments such as The Goodsyard in Shoreditch. Our work includes projects like London Wall Place and the landscape at Caring Wood, winner of the 2017 RIBA House of the Year. Spacehub designs dynamic, memorable public realm and landscapes by understanding each site’s character, context and culture, creating thoughtful solutions that add value to people and nature.
By hosting at different practices, we highlight places doing thoughtful work at a human scale and introduce our community to the actual people behind the projects. Hosting us is an act of allyship and care.
Our hosts will introduce their practice and showcase projects, ainvite us into their office and share the space with us for conversation over tea and snacks.
The studio is on a first floor with a lift available. Please message us with any access requirements on @_queerscapes or info@queerscapes.com
