This workshop is part of HACKNEY PRIDE FAYRE a day of FREE LGBTQIA+ led markets, stalls, activities, workshops, cabaret, performance and…. MORE! Check out the rest of the programme, and book more workshops and performances HERE. Hackney Pride Fayre is funded by Hackney Council.
Please note: whilst this workshop is FREE it requires a £10 deposit + booking fee. This is due to the limited capacity of the workshop. The deposit will be refunded unless you cancel with less than 72 hours notice or you do not show up for the workshop. Unfortunately the booking fee is not refundable.
Join artist Emily Witham to learn how to attach metal rivets to leather, creating a studded patch spelling out a 3–6 letter word of your choosing. To see examples of what previous participants have created click this link.
Whatever word you choose, you’ll walk away with a new skill as well as a finished product that can then later be sewn onto clothing or framed and displayed as an artwork.
Beginner friendly, no previous leatherworking experience needed! All tools and materials are provided. The workshop will use responsibly sourced premium cowhide leather.
Studs will be hammered by hand, so this is a noisy workshop. Feel free to bring ear plugs/defenders.
Session duration: 1.5 hours
