In the dark double decade following the first reported UK case in 1981, approximately 10,000 gay and bisexual men died of AIDS-related illnesses across the country, mostly in London. And there were other challenges - systemic homophobia, misogyny and racism, drink and drugs, dangerous streets, section 28, legal discrimination. And all the pubs closed on Sunday afternoon. Apart from the Market Tavern.
Where are the Survivors of these decades? Scottee brings some of them together including veteran HIV activist and Brixton legend Marc Thompson, co-founder of Stonewall, The Pink Paper and long-term foot soldier for Switchboard and THT Lisa Power MBE (TBC), underground cabaret icon Lanah P (TBC) and artist Neil Bartlett to talk about tenacity, resistance and resilience. Plus new performance and songs
