Hooks & Needles: Craft Fundraiser 🧶🧶
Only 20 places available! Going fast!
Date: 9th of August 2026
Time: 12-3pm
📍 The Liberation Centre, 2 Beehive Pl, London SW9 7QR
A beginner-friendly tutorial on how to knit and crochet two iconic flag designs, as well as a watermelon (keychain attachments provided). If you've already got a work-in-progress, feel free to bring it along and craft with us.
Come along for a relaxed afternoon of yarn crafts, music, snacks and discussion as we raise funds!
We welcome crafty people of any expertise, even those who have never held needles or a hook before!
Maybe you have a yarn stash that's getting out of hand, or yarn you have no plans for? Bring any spare yarn you’d like to swap. Needles and crochet hooks will be provided, but you're welcome to bring your own too (just make sure they're labelled so they don't get lost).
Alongside our crafting session, we'll be hosting a short talk exploring how women have been at the forefront of liberation struggles, and how textiles - traditionally associated with women’s labour - have been used to organise resistance discretely and preserve cultural identity.
Most importantly, you'll be making a meaningful contribution to an international fundraising effort.
Show solidarity and join us on Sunday 9th August!
