welcome to our november chosen family book club meet-up!
this month, we’ll be reading The Last One by Fatima Daas, translated by Laura Vergnaud.
Fatima is the youngest daughter of Algerian immigrants, raised in a home where love and sexuality are considered taboo and signs of affection avoided.
Throughout the book, she grapples with her attraction to women and how it fits with her religion, which she continues to practice. When someone new comes into her life, she doesn't know exactly what she needs but feels that something crucial has been missing.

at this meet-up, anyone is welcome and the voices of our queer/trans+/disabled/BIPOC comrades will always be prioritised.
no two books will be the same, but they’ll always focus on themes like gender identity, race, palestine, disability, spirituality, and more.
this is a space where we hope you come as yourself and you leave with your people.
