Haunting Nature
Guided walk & fireside creative writing session.
at Arlington Court, near Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 4LP
A walk through the woods led by National Trust Ranger Ella Ronan discussing the mythical and murderous tales in which our trees, plants and animals played central roles.
Followed by a creative writing session led by Queer Nature Club, accompanied by hot soup and marshmallows.

'Queer nature' is based on the idea that gender, reproduction, sex and sexuality are fluid and expansive in the natural world.
This event is for the LGBTQIA+ community, friends & allies, & anyone interested in exploring nature through a ‘queer' perspective.
The event will include some woodland paths, but do get in touch regarding access: we are always open to adjusting our events according to access needs and Arlington Court does have fully accessible facilities. The event will also have a relaxed atmosphere; and an optional approach to any exercises or sharing.

Queer Nature Club South West is an LGBTQIA+ collective in South West England exploring nature together.

The majority of our events are fully-wheelchair accessible, but in 2026 we are also programming some longer hikes.
In 2024-5 we made a zine together.
