Yin yoga is a beautiful complement to Andy's more dynamic flow classes as it works to strengthen and stretch and support the deeper tissues of the body such as connective tissue, ligaments, joints and bones.
We hold poses for between 1 and 4 minutes usually, finding the 'sweet spot' where inner stillness emerges, the breath is deep and nourishing and our tissues are coaxed into being a little longer and a little stronger, which is what we want.
Furthermore, Yin yoga is based on the ancient Chinese/Taoist philosophies and principles around pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.
"A yin yoga sequence has a very similar effect on our energies as an acupuncture treatment," Stefanie Arend
By holding the poses, a yin yoga sequence can help restore the healthy flow of Qi in our bodies.
Who is Yin yoga good for?
Anyone who feels they need more balance and calm in their busy, active lives. Yin helps us to round out our exercise workouts, promoting deep stretching and aiding recovery. Its internal focus also means it's a great starting point for anyone interested in meditation.
Yin yoga is also for anyone who is dealing with injuries or a chronic condition like osteoporosis or arthritis because it's such a restorative way of exercising.
Self Pleasure
The deeply sensual, grounding experience of yin yoga is a delicious place to invite erotic energy and explore richer self-pleasure. An optional self-pleasure meditation will follow the class for those who want to go deeper. Tickets for this part of the session are sold separately and it is advised that you attend the yoga class first to prime your body.
We commit to co-creating a safe and respectful container. You will need a webcam and it must be kept on throughout the session. Recording in any way is not permitted. Thank you for your co-operation. When the ground is steady and safe, we can push against it and take flight.

Classes will take place on Zoom and the link will be emailed to you upon booking. You can download Zoom here: https://zoom.us/
