Your new favourite queer African space has arrived!
Queer Y2K BBQ: The Afro Edition is a queer party space bought to you by Queer Happenings.
We have cultivated this space for queer Africans across the UK to connect on our unique and shared backgrounds and celebrate an iconic era. Whether you’re repping Les Francophones, Nollywood, House, or our East African babes, show up and show out to the best celebration of African cultures. You do not have to be African to attend and all QPOCs are invited.
Attendees look forward to great music, and even better vibes. It is BYOB but what’s a BBQ without some grill action? Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and any food items they’d like to be grilled and there will be some food available to grab (first come first serve). Don’t worry about seating as there will be plenty!
Admission is free but we are rolling on a pay as you can basis to help with running costs. The address will be sent to ticket holders!
