Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett lives in Vauxhall with his husband. He studied European Studies (Politics and government) with French and Italian at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
Adrian worked in the Legal translation sector in the City, Southwark Council -Housing, Education, Strategy & Development and Children's services, Multi Lingual Recruitment and from August 2017 until December 2021, he worked at enei (Employers Network for Equality and Inclusion) as Global (Inclusion & Diversity) Relationship & Membership Development Manager which supported over 50 Global organisations in their inclusion & diversity journey.
In January 2022, Adrian started a brand new role as the Inclusion & Diversity Advisor for Anglo American, a global Mining company.
Adrian joined the Liberal Democrats in 2006, and stood to be a Local Councillor in 2010, 2014, and 2018 and is known for his local community work formerly within Waltham Forest, and more recently in Lambeth as an active community representative, Tenants & Residents Association Chair, revitalising a nearby green space area of Hatfield’s Green
As a well-known, and respected equality campaigner, Adrian led the Liberal Democrat campaign for Equal Marriage, as Chair LGBT+ Lib Dem’s from 2010 to 2013 and returned to Chair again in 2016 leading on HIV prevention and campaign to role out PreP.
Adrian worked in the House of Lords as the Equalities Research Advisor to the Liberal Democrat Lords Equalities Spokesperson Baroness Meral Hussein-Ece OBE from August 2016 until December 2021.
Adrian stood for the Vauxhall Constituency at the 2015 General Election as the first ever openly HIV+ Parliamentary Candidate to stand at a UK General Election and then stood in two further snap General snap Elections in 2017 and 2019 for the constituency of Ipswich, bringing Liberal Democrat’s from a lowly 5th position in 2015 back to third in 2019.
At the same time in 2015, he was the by-election Candidate in Princes Ward, Lambeth for the Local Election, where he achieved his best result ever so far coming 2nd, quadrupling the number of votes from the previous Local Election, moving Lib Dem's from 4th to 2nd in that ward.
The presentation will be followed by a Q & A session.

08:15 - 9:30 pm networking with hosts introducing people who need to be in touch (the registration process gives us the needs of all present and we put 2 & 2 together)
