We had really special time weaving the panels for the collaborative community made pride flag, and now its time to piece it together! To do so we will be backing the woven panels on fabric.
Learn embroidery and add to our collaborative community inclusive pride flag together! In the spirit of the 1978’s pride, a collective flag will be woven on the floor looms and embroidered by all who attend and will be waved at the London Pride and London Trans Pride!
A great way to meet local LGBTQIA+ people and honour queer history!
- Learn and practise embroidery techniques - no experience needed!
- Use stitches to leave your mark through embroidered doodles or words, decorating the panels that will hold together the woven panels made on the floor loom by the community!
- Queer craftivism! Meet others and connect to community while creating something together
- You are welcome to join us as we take this to pride events with the flag we have weaved and embroidered together!
- If you can't or don't want to go to pride, have your pride experience while crafting and let us carry a piece of you to the march itself!
- Names & pronoun badges to help us skip introductions if we’re feeling a little nervous, and saves any pressure of having to remember the names of 10 new people!
- We will have exclusive use of the workshop to have a queer space to celebrate pride your way.
- Bring your own snacks!
- Drop in whenever you want, no rush!
We will welcome anyone who identifies under the broad queer and trans umbrellas wether your dabbling for the first time or a big time crafter.

Our flag so far is weaved to have the following sections:
Red and orange | yellow and green / blue and purple / brown and black / pink, blue and white / yellow and purple for the intersex section
The embroidered panels will go in-between the woven sections to help define the colour sections of the flag!

The finished community-made flag will represent the progress flag through the vertical woven and embroidered panels!
