Pride - Stitched Up!
PRIDE
STITCHED UP!
LGBTQ+ Craft Workshops
Join us at Triangle to Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UK’s first pride March in 1972, organised by The Gay Liberation Front and inspired by the the riots at the Stonewall Inn and the marches that followed. Don’t forget that Pride is always a protest!Join Triangle artists for a stitching and making workshop reworking an existing item of clothing or fabric and expressing your voice through sewn text, image, embellishment or alteration.. making your own garment that's totally out of the closet!
Getting inspiration from past LGBTQ+ protests, marches, iconic signage, badges and zines you can use a sewing machine, stitch by hand, embellish, rip and reshape your chosen garment or fabric to create your own Pride Protest wearable art (We will have a badge machine on hand if you want to add that extra bit of magic!) so remember, Be Gay, Do Crime! ✊(or sewing of course!)
You can come on either workshop.
We are open from 10am for coffee in the bar, workshop starts at 11am. All you need is to bring along your garment or fabric you wish to transform and join us!
Age restriction: 18+
