Knockout LGBTQ+ Boxing Club has created a new monthly class specifically for women and non-binary people.
Learning to box can bring a lot of physical and mental health benefits, and we’d like to encourage more LGBTQ+ women and non-binary people to take up the sport. That’s why on the last Monday of each month our class at Oasis Sports Centre studio 1 will be just for them.
Although this class is open to all skill levels, there is no sparring - it’s just body-weight conditioning and pad-work. After class, we’ll head to a nearby venue to socialise.
Please arrive at 6:45pm to get changed and to wrap your hand (a coach can help with that if you're a beginner). The class starts at 7pm and lasts an hour.
What to bring: While we do have gloves that you can borrow, we recommend you bring your own if you have them. Hand wraps can be borrowed for your first class, but we ask that you buy your own afterwards. You’ll get a good workout in this class, so please make sure you dress for it and remember to bring a water bottle. There are gendered changing rooms available in the centre and you’ll need a bank card (tap-to-pay) to purchase a 30p token for the lockers if you need them. More info about equipment here.
Places are limited, so please don't turn up unless you have a place booked on this system. Tickets go on sale the Monday before at 10pm.
Knockout runs mixed classes for all members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies on the first 3 Mondays of the month, as well as every Thursday & Saturday. Join us!
