Join writer and researcher Gwen Dupré for two online reading groups thinking through themes of desire, submission, and how falling inextricably in love manifests in writing and personal narrative. The groups form part of a wider public programme accompanying Ashleigh Fisk’s exhibition, ‘I will live many years in this room’ and are inspired by Fisk’s work and Gwen’s own written contribution to the project.
For the first session, participants will read extracts from Amia Srinivasan’s ‘The Right to Sex’ (2021) and Chris Kraus’ ‘I Love Dick’ (1997). The extracts will be shared with participants before the group but pre-reading and familiarity with the texts isn’t necessary. This workshop is free and open to all but please RSVP by purchasing a free ticket. Participants are welcome to drop into one or both of the sessions!
