Are you thinking of joining the Nakba 78: March for Palestine in central London on Saturday 16 May?
These videocalls are one-hour, chill, friendly spaces, held a week before the march, for us all to:
- Meet others across the UK who are thinking of joining the march
- Buddy up to travel or organise a meeting spot in central London before the march (for those who want to)
- Discuss signs we might make, and get started with making them (for those who want to)
Both videocalls will be hosted by me, Taz, a 36-year old queer British Asian woman from south London (hi 👋🏼). You won't need to be your on your most high energy or activist form. Just be friendly and willing to chat to others in the call.
Why are there two videocalls?
There's just a weekday option and a weekend option - come to whichever suits you.
If you come on the Friday videocall and you want to spend more time preparing for the march together, you might decide to come to the Saturday videocall too.
What do I need for this videocall?
- Be in a quiet place that allows you to listen and talk in a videocall
- If you want to potentially buddy up to travel or begin the march with others, have your diary available
- If you want to spend some of the time making a sign to bring to the march, then have crafty materials to hand (here's a simple explainer from Roundhouse)
The videocall link with either be from Proton or NextCloud (alternatives to Big Tech that aren't complicit in the genocide). I'll send the link to your email address beforehand. You won't need to make any new accounts or download any new apps to access the videocall - you should be able to join the videocall from your browser.
If you have any accessibility needs around videocalls, please let me know when you book. We can investigate them together!
What if I have questions before I book?

Who is this by and who is it for?
I'm Taz, just a British citizen participating in Palestine solidarity action and always looking for others who want to do the same thing.
This event is for anyone thinking of joining the Nakba 78: March for Palestine in central London on Saturday 16 May. I'm especially encouraging people who aren't going with big friendship groups, civic groups or unions. This event is advertised on the FreelancersForPalestine.org.uk website, as part of a calendar of activities bringing freelancers together around Workplace Day of Action for Palestine. But you don't need to be a freelancer to come to these videocalls.
