Join us at The Common Press for a special Pride Month event celebrating two remarkable new queer novels and the writers behind them.
My Only Boy by Rosa Rankin-Gee is the sensational new novel from the highly-acclaimed author of Dreamland. Both an unforgettable queer love story between a lesbian and gay man and a state-of-the-nation thriller, My Only Boy asks universal questions about desire, complicity, and what happens when your sense of self collapses along with the world around you.
She will be joined by Curtis Garner, whose second novel, Orange, is a candid portrait of first love and self-discovery. Spanning Cornwall in 2018 and East London in 2023, Orange explores memory, class, queerness, and how we reconcile our past selves with the people we become, those we bring with us and those we leave behind.
In conversation, Rosa and Curtis will discuss the inspirations behind their novels, writing queer love stories, identity, and the power of fiction to capture the complexities of contemporary life. Come celebrate Pride Month with an evening of conversation and queer storytelling at The Common Press.
