Join us for an in-conversation with author Jason Okundaye, to celebrate the book Revolutionary Acts: Love and Brotherhood in Black Gay Britain.
Revolutionary Acts tells the story of an older generation of Black gay men and their lives in South London from the 1970s to the 1990s. Through Okundaye’s conversations with these men, he documents a history of nightlife, resistance, political fights, loss, gossip, sex, and romance. In doing so, he offers an important portrait of resilience and self-determination, inspired by the love and beauty Black men have found in each other.
Our Meet the Author series invites you to learn more about Britain’s queer history from those who are writing it. Each event features an in-conversation with the author, followed by a post-event book signing where you can meet them in person. You can purchase a copy of the book in our shop.
Your ticket also includes admission to Queer Britain Museum – explore our exhibitions before or after the event.
