Creative workshop inspired by critical texts
Discussing ideas like…
- Queer ecology
- Radical Optimism
- Utopian Thinking
- Coloniality
Inspired by Ben Walters’ (Dr. Duckie/ Badge Cafe) concept of Homemade Mutant Hope Machines & Davina Cooper’s Everyday Utopias, we will be analysing critical texts, ripping them apart (metaphorically and literally), and producing a creative group response.
This workshop will be partially led by your interests and whichever direction our discussion goes in.
HOWEVER here are some ideas of what we could do:
- Collective group zine
- Creating a physical branch of paper leaves discussing our thoughts and feelings
- Rewrite or illustrate the provided texts
- Collage our collective response with different topics and opinions branching off
A seminar + arts & crafts class where no prior knowledge or experience is needed!
Get involved and join us for some queer, utopian fun!
