Glasgow’s Anti-Racist History 1930s to today: From fighting the British Union of Fascists to Kenmure
Glasgow has a long tradition - of resistance, of refusal, of standing shoulder to shoulder.
From chasing the British Union of Fascists out of Queen’s Park in the 1930s to the collective stand on Kenmure Street in 2021, this city has shaped a proud and unfinished tradition of anti-racist struggle.
Stand Up to Racism Glasgow invites you to an evening of stories - of defiance in the streets, in workplaces, in music, art and everyday acts of solidarity. A panel of speakers will reflect on moments when communities said no - and meant it.
As the far right gathers force once more, we look back not to romanticise the past, but to draw strength from it. What can we carry forward? What must we fight for now?
*No age restrictions. The event will have seating but this will be limited to a first come first served basis.
