We are excited to launch Pubis Magazine’s second issue, ‘Fangirlsdom 同人女志’. Instead of displaying Chinese fandoms, ‘Fangirlsdom’ celebrates Chinese fangirls’ own life experiences and their creativity of erotic knowledge and alternative expressions of feminism and queerness. The issue includes 22 contributions by Chinese diasporic women around the world, some of whom are trying creative writing for the first time. 📝
📆Date: 10 October 2025
⏰Time: 19:00 - 21:00
📍Venue: The Vagina Museum
🗣️Language: English
🎫 Tickets: £1/£2/£8
Ticket tiers: General Entry / Entry+ (gets you in and acts as a voucher redeemable toward the purchase of Issue #2) / Super Entry (gets you in, includes a £2 voucher towards a copy of Issue #2 and a flash card zine as a thank you)
The launch party features a panel discussion with contributors and an experimental performance by Yuna Hu (@yunaa_sparasii), a multimedia artist and contributor to the zine. The panel will introduce the zine and explore how fangirls’ creations play crucial roles in validating ESEA queer joy, accommodating the pains of cultural displacement, and addressing the urgency of free expression through queer feminist perspectives.🦋 In the performance, Yutian Hu will take the hydropower station as a metaphor—fluid energy transforms into electricity, to illustrate how artists generate power through love, urgency, care, and community.✨
🦴About Pubis Project🦴
Starting from 2024, Pubis Project (@pubis_project) has been using indie publishing and events as methods of connection and empowerment for Chinese feminist and Queer diasporic communities. We build an intimate yet radical space where fugitivity, critical care and dissident joy can coexist. 👯👯♀️Annually, Pubis Project explores diasporic experiences through a chosen theme, producing an annual issue of Pubis Magazine and organizing a series of related events, workshops and exhibitions. Through these efforts, Pubis Project actively seeks solidarity with feminist and queer communities in the UK and around the world. 🫶📖
